 The Site

This site is designed as an electronic portfolio of my work for TE 600: Development of Instructional Materials, West Virginia University (WVU), Summer 2005. In the course, we explore current technology standards, teaching and learning theories, and instructional technology tools, and then apply--or synthesize and apply--our findings in the development of writings and projects.

The Mix

The materials on this site are an eclectic mix, due to my involvement in a number of organizations (see Related Sites on the right). I focus on developing instructional materials for educators or potential educators in my work with the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC), WVU Technology Education, and the Center for Instructional Technology (CIT) at Frostburg State University (FSU). At the Center for Mathematics, I focus on designing instructional materials for children, ages 9 - 13. Read more about the mix of projects.

I have a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan - Flint (1992) and a M.S. in Mathematics from Indiana University (1997). In 2003, I earned a Distance Education graduate certificate from Capella University. That same year, I enrolled in the Technology Education doctoral program at West Virginia University.

Work experience as Instructional Designer/Training Coordinator for the Center for Instructional Technologies and as a member of the curriculum development team at the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium has facilitated my acquisition of a good variety of skills related to instructional technology, including use of the following tools: Dreamweaver; MS Office; Blackboard Learning System; Camtasia; and Adobe Acrobat, Indesign, and Photoshop.
